Bryans Win Doubles Final

Bob and Mike Bryan won their second Rome title, defeating fellow US pairing John Isner and Sam Querrey
Having lost to rivals Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic here last year, the Bryan brothers were desperate to win their second Rome crown in this, their fourth consecutive final at the Foro Italico. Querrey and Isner meanwhile came together mid-way through last season and swept into Sunday’s final on an impressive run, having defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga-Stanislas Wawrinka, fourth seeds Mahesh Bhupathi/Max Mirnyi, Yves Allegro/Roger Federer and doubles specialists Pablo Cuevas/Juan Monaco.
The No.2 seeded Bryan brothers got a break early in the first set on Sam Querrey’s service and from that point onwards were never headed. Left-handed Bob was serving particularly well, and both of them dominated the net with their crisp volleying, keeping the points short.
The second set was a tighter affair but the brothers managed another break in the eighth game, again feasting on Querrey’s second serves, and served out for the title, winning 6-2, 6-3. This is the fourth of the year for the 32-year-old twins and their first Masters of 2010, to add to their Australian Open crown.
